Founded in 2021, Doutu.be is a short video sharing site. New videos are updated daily from many genres like dance, comedy, entertainment, landscape, education, and more. You will enjoy it. Don't forget to share videos and bookmark them.
The site has been developed by Kien Pham. I'm the only one who has been working on the project until now. You can contact me if you have any questions or suggestions.
Timeline
I was learning to code at this time. I wanted to practice my skills and build something useful for myself and others. I was likely creating a video downloader website.
I created a simple website allowing users to download videos from Douyin, TikTok, and more. But I never published it. I started thinking about the project: why not create a video sharing website so I could learn more about cloud services and deployment?
So I decided! I started thinking about the name, logo, design, and features, and began coding. It was COVID time, so I had a lot of time to code and learn.
I launched the website with only a Video Feed page at this time. I had a few users!
I added more pages like Explore, Trending, Photos, and Category. Users could now watch videos, comment, like, share, bookmark, etc. Slowly but steadily, I was able to add more features and improve the website. I created some AWS Lambda functions to handle video processing and storage.
I haven't dropped the project yet. I fixed my mistakes (my old site wasn't good in terms of structure, coding patterns...) and created a new site! This is the current site you are on.
